Chief Technology Officer
Jung Yee joined Wi-LAN as Chief Technology Officer in August 2006. He provides strong technical support across Wi-LAN’s licensing activities, as well as its patent acquisition program.
Prior to joining Wi-LAN, Jung held a number of senior development and management positions with IceFyre Semiconductor, Conexant, Philsar, Newbridge Networks, and Nortel Networks. In 2001, Jung co-founded IceFyre Semiconductor and was CTO, with responsibilities for chip architecture, standards development, and technology development. While at IceFyre, he played an integral role in developing its rich portfolio of Wi-Fi patents. Jung has extensive research and development experience in wireless systems, including Wi-Fi, WiMAX, Bluetooth, CDMA, and GSM. He has also played an integral role in IEEE 802 wireless standards development, as well as wireless spectrum policy development by Industry Canada and FCC.
Jung was honored as one of Ottawa’s “Top 40 under 40” in 2001. He is a former Chair of the IEEE 802.16 MAC committee. Jung is a frequent speaker at conferences and has delivered numerous papers and articles on wireless technologies. Jung holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of British Columbia.
